Method of operation of steam generator of nuclear power plant includes circulation of heat-carrier agent by means of main circulation pump along tubes of horizontal bundle, supply of working body - feed water - to intertube area, removal of steam, continuous and periodical blow-through to remove slam. Blow-through is performed when switching circulation of heat-carrier agent off, i.e., main circulation pump, by means of removal of blow-through water via line of blow-through. Steam generator also has union disposed at the bottom part of case of steam generator under the zone having the highest steam-productivity within period of stopping circulation of heat-carrier agent on the left and/or on the right from hot (cold) collector of heat-carrier agent onto guideline shifted from longitudinal vertical (diametric) plane to collector.;EFFECT: increased reliability of operation; efficient slam removal.;2 cl, 1 dwg
