Flexographic plate production from element with dimensionally stable base, (A) not less than 0.3 mm thick photopolymerizable, relief-forming layer of elastomer binder, ethylenically unsaturated monomer and photoinitiator and (B) protective element, transparent for actinic light, involves curing all (A) with actinic light, removing (B) and engraving not less than 0.03 mm deep relief with 3000-12000 nm-emitting laser, using (B) treated or coated on one side to allow peel from cured (A). An Independent claim is also included for the flexographic element with peelable protective element.
