Wheel detection circuit for rail track section monitoring has electromagnetic sensor and corresponding switch signal erased after time interval related to train velocity

The detection circuit provides a signal (4.1,5.1) in response to the passage of a rail vehicle wheel, using an electromagnetic sensor (4,5) attached to the track rail within the magnetic field of the rail vehicle wheel, with provision of a corresponding switch signal (4.2,5.2), compared with a threshold value for providing the wheel detection signal. The sensor signal and the switch signal are erased after a time interval which is related to the velocity of the rail vehicle.
