A tow bar consists of a side member (1) constructed from steel telescoping parts to lift the axle of a disabled vehicle, and a pair of crossbars (3) for lifting the vehicle wheel. The crossbars are also used to lift the axle or the forks of a forklift, and can be mounted to any position along the length of the side member. Either end (5) of the tow bar is rotatable about an axis.
