Production of tribological cast parts made from iron alloys comprises adding hard stable particles to the melt shortly before, during or after casting to obtain embedded particles in the solidified structure. Independent claims are also included for: (a) cast part produced by the above process; and (b) cylinder crankcase made from an iron alloy.
