Method for preparing a carrier (A) for detection of analytes (An) comprises supplying liquid, containing building blocks for synthesis of polymeric receptors (R) on a carrier; location and/or time-specific immobilization of (R) at predetermined locations on the carrier; and repeating the process until required (R) have been synthesized. The new feature is that before, during and/or after receptor synthesis, hapten groups (HG) are applied to the carrier. An independent claim is also included for a method for quality control of receptor synthesis on a carrier.
