The method involves determining the proportion of volume change to the change in blood pressure when draining an occluded vein, such that the blood pressure is assigned to the maximum point of the determined proportion. A plethymographic measuring process is performed to determine and record blood pressure while draining the occluded vein on the upper arm of a patient.
