The apparatus has a transmitter and/or receiver (6) for modulating a video signal onto a carrier signal and for transmitting or receiving the modulated carrier signal over a predetermined frequency band. The apparatus has modulation means for modulating a color (red, green, blue or RGB) video signal onto the carrier signal. The carrier signal is a signal with a frequency of greater than 3 GHz. Preferably the modulation means carries out an analog modulation of the individual channels of the video signal. Independent claims are also included for the following; (1) a method of signal transmission; (2) a portable data processor for transmitting signals.
