The particle filter system, in the exhaust pipe from a vehicle diesel motor, has at least one particle filter element (4) within a housing (3) with an exhaust gas inflow (5) and an outflow (6), and a filter regeneration system. The housing has a pressure-tight air gap (12), for thermal insulation, between the inner housing (10) around the filter and the outer housing shell (11). The air gap acts as a measurement channel to determine a pressure difference to give the regeneration efficiency and/or the regeneration time point for the particle filter, with openings (14',15') near the inflow and outflow, linked to a pressure difference sensor.
