The device (1) has a housing, and two exhaust gas cleaning elements e.g. diesel particle filters (10, 11), that are placed at a distance from one another. The filters are accommodated in the housing and are retained in a housing interior using a support pipe (8). The filters are accommodated inside the support pipe such that the exhaust gas flow (15) streams out from the support pipe into the housing interior after flowing through the filters, where the exhaust gas flow streams into the support pipe via a cylinder orifice (13) on a wall side of the support pipe. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement with an exhaust gas cleaning device in a commercial motor vehicle.
