An evaporation unit for a fluid heat transfer medium comprises an evaporating section (14), followed by a latent heat store (4) and then a section (16) in which the medium is superheated. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a latent heat store as above; (b) an evaporation process;and (c) a steam power unit comprising the above.
