The pump (1), and especially a vacuum pump to supply a gas with a liquid portion, has an oil collector (8) in the sump (10) of which is installed an electric heater (11) by which for the purpose of eliminating a concentrated collection of liquid in the oil collector a temperature can be set which is lower than the boiling temperature of the oil and higher than the boiling temperature of the liquid. An opening (12) is provided between the oil collector and the pressure side of the pump. The connection of the oil pump (7) to the oil collector is in the upper region of the oil sump.
