Method for generating face animation parameters for representing spoken speech using a graphical computer model, whereby a mood detection arrangement (1) is used to detect the mood of a person from a spoken work or word sequence and the mood detection arrangement then converts the detected mood into a face animation parameter. An independent claim is made for an arrangement for generating face animation parameters appropriate to spoken speech. The arrangement has a microphone (11) connected to a mood detection arrangement, which then determines a persons mood from a word or word group and transmits a signal to a speech animation arrangement (5) for conversion into face animation parameters.
