Inflatable cushion for repair of ship on inland waterway is positioned under damaged section of ship

In a process to repair a ship's propeller or propeller shaft seal on an inland waterway, the ship is navigated to shallow water and positioned over an inflatable cushion. The cushion is protected from accidental damage and inflated under that part of the vessel requiring repair. If the vessel is threatened by capsizing, additional inflatable side-cushions are attached to the vessel as required.
