The IC engine starting method uses an initial injection of fuel in one of the engine cylinders (5,10,15,20) before initial combustion in the engine cylinders for starting the IC engine (1), with evaluation of an engine operating parameter upon the initial combustion, for adjusting a second operating parameter for at least one subsequent combustion cycle during the engine starting via an engine control (35).
