1,1-Difluoro-9-oxacyclopenta[b]fluorene or -9-oxacyclohexa-[b]fluorene compounds and their 2,3-dihydro derivatives, with one or two more fluorine substituents at positions 8 and/or 10 and various other substituents at positions 2 and 7 are new. Compounds of formula (I) are new.
