Alloy contains (in wt.%) up to 24 chromium and manganese, up to 5.5 carbon, vanadium and molybdenum, and up to 1.23 silicon, niobium, nickel, phosphorus and sulfur, and a balance of iron. An independent claim is also included for a process for the production of wear resistant tools for the mechanical treatment of cellulose fibers.
