The flow resistance of the opening (2) through which the gas flows for filling the airbag (1) can be adjusted by mass elements which change their position relative to the opening under the influence of acceleration. A tubular flexible duct (3) adjoins the opening and forms the mass elements. A free end of the duct can be provided with additional mass elements.
