Production of pressurized nitrogen by low temperature decomposition of air in a rectifier system for nitrogen-oxygen removal comprises condensing no gas from the upper region of a high pressure column (10) in indirect heat exchange with a liquid from a low pressure column (11) standing under the pressure of the low pressure column. An independent claim is also included for a device for producing pressurized nitrogen by low temperature decomposition of air in a rectifier system for nitrogen-oxygen removal.
