New preparations (A) for treating keratin fibers contain siloxane elastomers (I) obtained by reacting (a) vinyl-terminated polymethyl siloxane with methyl hydroxy dimethyl siloxane and/or (b) hydroxy-terminated dimethyl polysiloxane with trimethylsiloxy-terminated methylpolysiloxane.
