The jig (1) for production of free-form wooden staircase components such as handrails (10), side panels (12) or under straps (11) out of one or more half sections (2) has a formable guide rail (3) attachable to the half sections. The guide rail has a longitudinally movable holder (4) for at least one router, saw or similar tool (5). The holder can have multiple seatings for the router or the latter can be steplessly adjustable.
