Method and arrangement of mobile, modular air-conducting and easily transported components for (a) reducing, according to demand, or decomposing odors that orginate from volatile organic compounds (VOC) and (b) for destroying germs. Method and arrangement of mobile, modular air-conducting and easily transported components for (a) reducing, according to demand, or decomposing odors that originate from volatile organic compounds (VOC) and (b) for destroying germs, using small ions and/or ozone; also for generating (from small ions) an electrostatic state in the air in a space such that fine dust, odor particles, fine aerosols and germs that can enter the lungs are deposited as sediment. The new feature is that ozone and/or small ions are supplied to the space so that ozone loading is permanently not over 50 ppb and/or the number of small ions (measured at the outlet) is at least 150, but not over 5 million, per cm3. The small ions and ozone are generated separately and supplied in defined quantities to the space being treated.
