The use of licochalcone A (I), or a (I)-containing extract (A) of Glycyrrhizae inflatae root, is claimed as a deodorizing principle in cosmetic deodorants. Independent claims are included for: (1) active agent combinations of (I) (or (A)) and one more deodorant and/or antiperspirant active agents (II); and (2) cosmetic preparations containing the active agent combinations.
