The connection has an additional material layer with high adhesion factor, provided at surfaces of a shaft and a collar for forming a connection between the shaft and the collar. The connection is made by application of energy, friction, high temperature and/or high pressing after the shaft and the collar are assembled. The surfaces are cleaned mechanically through jets and local heat sources. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a process for producing a shaft to collar connection (B) use of a shaft to collar connection that is utilized for components of motor vehicle such as gear box and engine.
