The conditioner has two heat exchangers (2, 3) serving as an evaporator and a condenser, respectively. The exchangers are designed as a single combined heat exchanger (1) with a common cooling agent circuit. The exchangers are arranged adjacent to each other and are part of air ducts (5, 7). An electrical compressor (4) is provided in the circuit. The exchanger (1) has a throttle (9) that conducts air via a heat exchanger (11). An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle having an air conditioner.
