Determining exhaust gas recirculation rate in engine combustion chamber, compares ionization test pulse response with that when recirculation is absent
With exhaust gas recirculation, the real-time profile (IS m, IS h) of the ionization signal (IS) and its maximum value (U m) are detected. This profile is compared with a reference profile (IR) associated with the same maximum value, where exhaust gas recirculation is absent. The difference between them is taken as a measurement of the exhaust gas recirculation rate.
