Reducing nitrogen oxide emission during nitric acid preparation comprises catalytically producing ammonia; providing and combusting the ammonia in a nitric acid plant; washing nitrogen oxide containing gas; and recycling residual gas
Reducing the emission of nitrogen oxide (a) in the nitric acid production, comprises producing ammonia by catalytic conversion of nitrogen with hydrogen in an ammonia plant (A); providing the produced ammonia into a nitric acid plant (B); combusting ammonia for (a) in (B); washing the gas containing (a) with water using absorption column arranged downstream to the ammonia combustion; and returning a part of residual gas of (B) into (A). An independent claim is also included for a plant for nitric acid production comprising ammonia plant for producing ammonia through catalytic conversion of nitrogen with hydrogen, which is connected with a nitric acid plant, which is produced from the formed ammonia through combustion of nitrogen oxide (where it exhibits an absorption column present downstream to the ammonia combustion, in which the nitrogen oxide containing gas is washed with water to form nitric acid) and at least an outlet, through which at least a part of the residual gas leaving the nitric acid plant is led back into the ammonia plant.
