The method involves outputting a signal to an active noise cancellation or ANC controller, using the first harmonic of an oscillation generated by an electric motor and the fan unit oscillation and as a reference sensor signal and controlling at least one actuator (10) that interacts with the housing using the reference sensor signal for noise minimization. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing the inventive method.
