The hydraulic valve installation (1) is arranged in a pressure medium conduit (2a,2b) feeding a user unit (4). It has a control valve (3) controlling the connection of a pump (5) and a tank (6) with the user unit. The valve installation has a stop valve function opening in the flow direction from the control valve to the user unit. In the opposite direction from the user unit to the control valve it has a brake valve function. The valve installation incorporates a brake valve piston (10) which has particularly a longitudinal hole (21) forming a valve seat (23). In this hole, a stop valve component (24) is longitudinally displaceable controlling the valve seat. The stop valve component is activated by a spring (26) and a load pressure effective in the direction of a stop position.
