The device has a control unit for automatically activating a therapy module depending upon a diagnosed excitation condition of a patient, so that fear incompatible stimuli are released from the module. A diagnosis module evaluates a biological signal e.g. heart rate, as a sign of fear, and passes it to the unit. Programs of the therapy module are activated in order to move the module into a stand-by mode, when the excitation rises.
