Device for connecting, surrounding and securing the position of tracheotomy tube comprises a core (1) made from an absorbing fibrous material. The cut surfaces/edges on an opening (4) or an edge (8) and optionally on a passage (6) are covered, closed and/or sealed. Preferred Features: The absorbing core layers are made from viscose, cotton and/or cellulose, preferably bicomponent fibers. The absorbing core consists of a lower core layer supporting a covering layer (3) and an upper core layer supporting a surface layer (2). The covering layer is semi-hydrophobic/hydrophilic.
