Motor to be commutated electronically has a rotor, a stator with stator coils, field effect transistors (FET) to commutate a current and a component to influence the operating range of the FET
A stator has stator coils (12,14). Field effect transistors (FET) (20,22) commutate a current in the stator coils. A component influences the operating range of the FET in such a way that the FET causes a current through the stator coils that is constant during a regular flow. The component has a control transistor (48) is designed to operate the FET as a source of cut-off current. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an electronically commutated motor.
