The assembly to wind a number of bands of filaments has two bobbin winders (1,2), arranged in a mirror image. Each has a bobbin turret (3.1,3.2) with two projecting and rotating bobbin spindles (4.1,4.2,5.1,5.2) to wind the filament bands (19,20) on to bobbins (9). The turrets and bobbin spindles have independent drives. The bobbin winders form a unit in a machine frame (6.1,6.2), where they can be exchanged separately and independently of each other.
