The bobbin winder, to wind a number of continuous yarns (12) into separate bobbins (8), has a bobbin spindle (2) to hold them. The bobbin spindle has a moving carrier (11) to place it on a guide path. A holder arm (15) swings on the machine frame (1) at its bearing mounting end (16), with an alternating swing or clamped action at the machine frame. The supporting end (17) of the holder arm is moved to the guide path together with the coupled bobbin spindle. The holder arm is clamped by a clamp actuator (24).
