The injector has a cylindrical unit (12) with an inlet opening (12a) from which fuel is introduced into the injector. A fuel filter (60) is positioned in vicinity of the inlet opening. The filter has a flat filter unit (62) and a frame (64) that supports the filter unit and fixes the filter to an inner bore of the cylindrical unit. The frame has a cylindrical portion forcibly inserted into the inner bore.
