An filter has an air filter unit arranged between a raw air inlet and a clean air outlet of a housing in a sealed manner. A flat filter unit with adsorbent particle is arranged at fins of a housing wall (19) of the housing. The flat filter unit is moved in an inner side of a given movement clearance relative to the housing wall in an oscillatory manner. The flat filter unit is provided with an adsorbent medium e.g. filter paper and/or partially synthetic medium or fully synthetic medium, where the flat filter unit is not directly arranged in a flow path of air between the inlet and outlet. An independent claim is also included for the for desorption of components with adsorbent particles in an air filter of an internal combustion engine.
