The device is assembled of two leg holding elements (1, 4) and a telescopic bar (2) for the determination of the distance between the legs. The two telescopic segments (8, 9) can be secured with a spring supported bolt. Each of the holding elements (4) is designed in a semi-circular shape with a padded inner surface (3) and attached to the bar (2) with movable joints (7). After insertion the legs of the patient can be secured with textile or leather straps (5) fastened with buckles or strips of Velcro(RTM) (6).
