The transport system in a factory may move a variety of containers or glass bottles which may be packed on pallets or in housings. Stretches of belts with chain drives may run on longitudinal beams (1) with broad top surfaces with antifriction coatings. There are shafts (12,13) with sprocket wheels for the chain drive. There are rollers on transverse shafts (11) for the belts. The longitudinal support beams overlap at the transfer region at the end of each belt run. There are catch plates (2) at the end of each run.
