One handle (4) is continuously coupled to a tappet (6), while the other handle is only coupled to the tappet after a release device (7) has been operated. The release device is activated by an electric or electronic control device which is arranged in a housing (8) of shape and size that corresponds to that of an ordinary lock cylinder. The housing is installed in the door fitting in place of the lock cylinder.
