Flat flame burner (1) comprises a chamber (2) with a combustion air inlet opening (3) and an outlet opening (5). At least one part of the chamber wall is curved over at least one circular arc segment. The combustion air inlet opening and an upstream combustion air supply (4) are arranged and oriented in the region of the curved wall so that combustion air flowing through the combustion air inlet opening enters tangentially to the curvature of the wall. An independent claim is also included for a flat flame burner with regenerative heat recovery and the above flat flame burner.
