The generator has a blower (40), with a mechanism for maintaining a given excess air pressure in an escape stairway (32). The motor of the blower is frequency regulated (44) and a sensor for sensing the air pressure dominant in the stairway. The regulation is regulated as a function of the stairway of dominant air pressure, so that in the stairway a positive pressure always exists.
