The short stroke device for the vertical movement of one or more powder spray guns has a lifting arm (4) to which are fastened powder spray guns (5.1,5.4), an electric drive (6) connected to the lifting arm via a crank (3), and an extension spring (1.1,1.2) through which the lifting arm is preloaded in the direction of movement. The preloading created by the springs is adapted to the load fastened on the lifting arm. The crank has a crank arm which is adjustable for the arm length effecting the lift.
