The lighting object (10) has a system of lighting bodies (12) provided by at least 3 light rods (14), positioned to provide an intersecting perspective without the light rods contacting one another and a current feed system (16) provided by tension cords (18) coupled to the ends of the light rods and cooperating with the latter for providing a self-supporting 3-dimensional structure. Transparent, translucent or opaque membranes may be stretched between the linear elements of the lighting object.
