The device has proximal and distal pressure sensors (64, 68) arranged along a limb of a body to detect pulse signals in the limb. A logic device measures only the periodical difference between the detected signals and not the amplitude of signals, to determine systolic, diastolic and/or average blood pressure. A pressure device is designed to change radial expansion of a blood vessel through the increase in pressure. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method of providing a measuring device that measures the blood pressure in a blood vessel (B) a method of measuring blood pressure in a blood vessel (C) a computer program product for measuring blood pressure in a blood vessel.
