The shuttering element (10) is used for construction of a reinforced concrete beam forming part of a masonry wall. It has two shuttering boards (11,12) parallel to each other and defining a space (15) to be filled with reinforcing bars and concrete. The two boards are joined by J- shaped or U-shaped metal profiles (20) with vertical sides joined to horizontal bottom portions by sharp right-angle bends. The bottom portions rest on top of brickwork forming the lower part of the wall. the metal profiled may be of T-shaped cross-section, with anticorrosion protective caps on inside.
