The insulation system uses a number of hard foam plates (3, 3a, 3b) to form an insulating jacket for the container wherein the surfaces of the plates have circumferential edges (18a,18b) wherein a first section (28a) of the first edge and a second section (30b) of the second edge form a positive connection(40) with no gaps. Seen in cross section the first edge section of the first plate and second edge section of the second plate are formed in a circular arc.
