The self-adhesive balance weight for the wheels of motor vehicles is manufactured from preferably multiply heat-formed wrought products of pure copper or copper alloy, with a copper content of at least 98 per cent, by a suitable forming process in optional weight steps, or in the form of a several meters long strip. The balance weights are flexible and by finger pressure or a suitable tool can be adapted to the radius of the rim upon which the weight is to be fitted.
