The system has actuator sensor interface (ASI) cable (3) connecting ASI slaves (2,2`) and an ASI master (1), where the cable is designed partially as a light wave conductor (4). Information bits are serially transferred from the ASI master to the ASI slaves, and signals containing the information bits are transferred from the slaves to the master. The information such as coded bit sequence to be transmitted over the cable is in direct compliance with ASI.
