The collecting station incorporates several stacking machines (5-7) which build up the full size stacks for packaging (1) by bringing packet modules (3) on a first lifting fork arrangement (10) with three support rods (13) for each packet. The partially-built-up packets are moved along a flat plane (11) by a system of conveyor belts. Packet modules may be built up on a second lifting fork arrangement (15) with two support rods (18) for each packet. Each stacking machine has a vertical wall (14) for aligning the edges of the individual paper sheets. The system includes a control computer.
