The storage tank has a heat exchanger consisting of at least one or more parallel connected tubular coils (1) with flat cross-section which are located inside the narrowly spaced separating faces so that the longitudinal extension of the tube cross-section is aligned parallel with the flow direction for the storage water whereby the inner spacing of the flat tube walls is so small that a good heat transition is produced even with a low flow rate of hot water (4). The tubular coil is wound from a hollow profile having a flat e.g. oval or rectangular cross-section .
